Demi Lovato Released from Hospital, Currently at Rehab Facility

Demi Lovato has issued her first statement, almost two weeks after her apparent drug overdose.

Though she's been understandably quiet on social media since the overdose, she's just broken her silence to deliver her first public statement since - and it'll give you so much hope.

"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction", the 25-year-old wrote.

"Sending love Demi. I've relapsed many times", he wrote. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet. Lovato said in a post on Instagram that she's "forever grateful" for her millions of fans and will "keep fighting" during her road to recovery.

Demi Lovato shares first statement following drug overdose

Demi was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and reportedly took a private plane to the facility, which is located outside of California, according to TMZ.

A person close to Lovato says she was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Demi Lovato's team are reportedly trying to pull her away from her "toxic friends".

She's now on tour and was scheduled to perform in New Jersey this week.

Demi - who has battled with drugs and alcohol abuse in the past - had stayed away from substances for six years but she recently revealed that she had fallen off the straight and narrow when she released her song "Sober" a few months back. "There was one night where I used a bunch of coke and I popped a few Xanax bars and I started to choke a little bit, and my heart started racing". "I wasn't equipped to be able to handle that situation - and so I got a list of several recommendations of people that specialize in this".
