President Donald Trump on Sunday offered his most definitive and clear public acknowledgment that his oldest son met with a Kremlin-aligned lawyer at Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign to "get information on an opponent", defending the meeting as "totally legal and done all the time in politics".

Whether it's the Trump Tower meeting in June 2016, or private messages back and forth with Wikileaks, Don Jr.'s name continues to pop up in regards to the current Mueller probe.

He said reports that he is concerned about the 2016 meeting his son had in Trump Tower are "fake news".

President Trump asserted that the Trump Tower meeting was a routine part of politics and was "totally legal and done all the time". "I did not know about it!"

Last night various U.S. outlets, including the Washington Post, CNN and AP, reported that Trump was anxious his son could be in legal trouble over the meeting.

"We also know that Hillary Clinton paid through a law firm eventually with Kremlin-connected sources to gather information on Donald Trump".

According to Law and Crime, Rubin, who is known for her Right Turn blog on the Washington Post, suggested on MSNBC's AM Joy that Trump should step down as president before he is forced out, and possibly ask Vice President Mike Pence to "pardon" him. Betraying no surprise or misgivings about the offer from a hostile foreign power, Trump Jr. replied: "If it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer". Mr. Trump has repeatedly denied that members of his campaign colluded with the Russians.

"I wasn't involved in the statement drafting at all, nor was the president", Sekulow claimed in July 2017.

Trump has recently come under fire for his own role in the 2016 meeting, as former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen claimed that the president knew about the meeting in advance - something Trump has previously denied.

But 13 months ago, Trump gave a far different explanation for the meeting.

Manafort is now on trial for unrelated bank and tax fraud charges as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, and Sekulow said that to his knowledge, Trump not the target of a federal probe stemming from the meeting.

"The question is what law, statue or rule or regulation's been violated? But I think, look, if you get a subpoena, you file what's called a motion to quash", Sekulow told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.

President Donald Trump is renewing his attacks on two of his favorite targets: the special counsel Russian Federation probe and the news media. "They can also cause War!"

These are all significant developments in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into whether the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government.

"They're talking about this blue wave", Trump said referring to way Democrats are depicted on electoral maps.
