This is the same year that Sharon became one of five victims of Charles Manson and his cult, who broke into her home and stabbed her and her friends to death.

Standing against a yellow backdrop and sporting Tate's signature hairstyle, a black turtleneck and matching skirt and go-go boots, Robbie closely resembles the brutally murdered star.

"First look", the actress captioned the photo.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will clearly be another bloody Tarantino spectacle - and another featuring an all-star cast.

Along with aforementioned actors, the movie also stars Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Kurt Russell, Timothy Olyphant, Damian Lewis, Burt Reynolds, Clifton Collins Jr, Emile Hirsch, Tim Roth, and Luke Perry.

It's unclear how significant Robbie's role will be in Tarantino's film, which centers around a fictional former star of a western TV series, Rick Dalton (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) who struggle to adjust to a Hollywood being changed by the 1960s. Tarantino describes the film as taking place in "Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippie Hollywood".

Early plot details for the upcoming movie were revealed last November with a release date of August 9, 2019, the fiftieth anniversary of actress Sharon Tate's murder. I'm very excited to tell this story of an LA, and a Hollywood that doesn't exist anymore.

However, Sharon Tate's sister Debra has said she is "very happy" that the release date is being shifted away from the anniversary of her sibling's murder, according to the New York Daily News.

Production for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is now underway in Los Angeles for Sony Pictures and the film is slated for release on August 9, 2019.
