The first major fight in Atlantic City in four years was competitive for the first six rounds, with both boxers having their moments.

After suffering three knockdowns and a seventh-round knockout defeat, New Jersey's State Athletic Control Board will place Russia's Kovalev (32-3-1, 28 KOs) on medical suspension for at least 90 days. Kovalev's power and skill should, over the course of the fight, prove too much for Alvarez, who hasn't fought in over a year. Bivol cruised to a decision victory in a fight many have prematurely labelled a "snoozefest".

"I just can't describe how I feel", Alvarez said. Alvarez, a 2008 Olympian, nailed him with another left-right combination nearly immediately, and Fields jumped in to stop the fight. Ashkeyev, who trains in the same camp with fighters such as Kovalev and pound-for-pound king Vasiliy Lomachenko, dominated Flores, who continually lost his mouthpiece.

"I knew it was my chance and I wanted to take it right now", Alvarez said.

"I'm more experienced, and I'm more mature", Kovalev said of his progress since then. With blood streaming down his face, Alvarez continued to land power shot after power shot, eventually sending Kovalev to the floor for a second time.

Kovalev bounced back from back-to-back losses to Andre Ward by stopping Vyacheslav Shabranskyy and Igor Mikhalkin, recapturing the WBO light heavyweight title in process. "That was a two-punch knockout".

Ruby Rose Cast as "Batwoman" on The CW
The CW has found its Batwoman: " Orange Is the New Black " star Ruby Rose will take on the iconic DC Comics role. She first appeared as a love interest for Bruce Wayne in the 1950's after censorship reached an all-time high.

Former Middleweight champion Peter Quillin is fighting for only the second time since he was knocked out by Daniel Jacobs in one round back in 2015 whereas J'Leon Love has been living on borrowed time feasting on low level opponents over the last few years. On the undercard, Isaac Chilemba will challenge Dmitry Bivol for the Russian's WBA light heavyweight belt. But everything changed dramatically in the seventh round when Alvarez badly hurt and dropped Kovalev with a clean right hand to the head.

But Kovalev had a strong fourth round, buzzing Alvarez with a pair of combinations and hard jabs. He got up quickly but Alvarez dropped him with a quick and furious combination less than a minute later.

Adonis Stevenson, the Montreal-based light heavy champ holding the WBC strap evaded him on two occasions, with promoter Yvon Michel figured out a benefit package as compensation for Eleider Alvarez's deferment of the inevitable. Undefeated challenger Eleider Alvarez remained undefeated by shocking Kovalev with a seventh-round knockout to earn his first ever world championship. "His punches were not as hard as they were in the beginning of the fight". "But now I'm back, and I'm ready for anything on Saturday".

But Kovalev collected himself and started throwing mean punches, seemingly taking over in the middle rounds with volume.

Still, Bivol won by shutout scores of 120-108 on scorecards from judges Eugene Grant and Ron McNair, and George Hill scored it 116-112.
