Mateo Kovacic Joins Chelsea On Loan From Real Madrid

Kepa has been drafted in to replace Thibaut Courtois, who has moved to Real Madrid in a £35m deal.

The midfielder has developed a strong friendship with Modric since joining Real Madrid in 2015 and admits he spoke to the former Tottenham player before deciding to move to Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old Croatia worldwide arrives at Stamford Bridge with a big reputation, but there is no official option for Chelsea to make the move permanent after the 2018/19 season.

Courtois has passed a medical in the Spanish capital and put pen to paper on a six-year contract.

It is being reported that a deal has been agreed with Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga for a fee in the region of £71 million, which would become the record amount spent on a goalkeeper.
