Detroit Tigers incorporated Aretha Franklin's song titles into their game notes

Aretha Franklin, the undisputed Queen of Soul who sang with matchless style on such classics as Think, I Say a Little Prayer and her signature song, Respect, and stood as a cultural icon around the globe, has died at the age 76 from pancreatic cancer.

Fans of the superstar also gathered outside her childhood church in Detroit, Michigan to honour her passing.

Franklin died in her Detroit home Thursday surrounded by her family.

Franklin, who sang with matchless style on such classics as "Think, ' "I Say a Little Prayer" and her signature song, 'Respect", announced her retirement from touring previous year.

"She was the first black woman to go into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In a lot of ways, her music and her voice have been a soundtrack to my life - maybe yours, too".
