Sources confirm that the OnePlus 6T will launch in October.

CNET reported this morning that the OnePlus 6T will launch with T-Mobile in October, its first USA carrier partner.

According to the report, T-Mobile would be the exclusive launch carrier for OnePlus in the United States, selling the phone through its retail stores and website.

But it's unclear what will differentiate the 6T from the 6: With last year's OnePlus 5T, the firm moved to the tall and thin 18:9-ish form factor that is now common with flagship phones.

EPL: Mourinho confirms Martial was fined for leaving US Tour

Somewhere north of 75 percent of all smartphone sales go through carriers in the USA, which makes having a carrier partner a key element for any smartphone maker that wants to break into the big leagues.

Ever since the OnePlus One from 2014, OnePlus phones have been the go-to Android handsets for people that want a flagship experience without the flagship price. Teasing U.S. carrier availability is risky business for most phone makers, but especially those hailing from China. And it now looks like the first carrier partnership will be with T-Mobile. And as for the device itself, the rumor mill has been pretty hush on the 6T thus far, though we were already quite certain it was arriving ahead of the holiday season anyway.

OnePlus has long sold unlocked phones that worked on T-Mobile, including the OnePlus 6 that you see above, but soon OnePlus may actually have a phone on T-Mo's shelves. Regardless of that, being offered by one of the "big four" in the USA should build more awareness for OnePlus among the mainstream public. OnePlus's phones aren't normally compatible with the CDMA networks of Verizon and Sprint for starters, which rules them out as the exclusive carrier partner.

We reached out to OnePlus regarding the news, and the company had no statement to offer at this time.
