Netflix continues to figure out its way in the comedy talk show arena.

Netflix, ever the confusing fickle beast, has cleared out a large space in its unscripted talk-show slate, canceling both The Break With Michelle Wolf and The Joel McHale Show With Joel McHale in one fell swoop.

The Joel McHale Show - which mined reality TV for laughs and followed in the tradition of the Community vet's E! show, The Soup - launched in February with 13 weekly installments. Then, months later on her now-canceled Netflix show, Wolf compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the Islamic terrorist group known as ISIS.

The cancellation of The Break with Michelle Wolf is quite a surprise since the show only debuted in May, and it had quite a bit of buzz leading up to the premiere since the titular comedian made quite the splash at this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner. Netflix also debuted the tenth season of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee back in July, fantastic news for anyone who likes their hosts to have the lukewarmest take possible on every subject in the world.

Netflix also dumped Chelsea Handler's self-titled talk show late previous year, but still is slated to unveil Hasan Minhaj's unscripted comedy show Patriot Act in October. On Sept. 14, the platform will debut Norm Macdonald Has a Show and on October 28, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj will premiere.

McHale will have a continuous presence on Netflix via his role on dark comedy series Santa Clarita Diet.
