Weather forecasts have much of the central part of the state dealing with Gordon's rain until the weekend.

Gordon is no longer a tropical system as it spins through central Arkansas, but it is responsible for the oppressive humidity area wide.

The heavier rain will begin Sunday morning. The storm has since weakened, but Environment Canada expects the edge of what's left of the storm to hit Southern Ontario Sunday night. The circulation is also helping to form the showers and storms now moving northward across the area. "Just looking at a lot of heavy rain through the day".

Sunday, September 9 is expected to see scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the high to be near 29°C/84°F and the low to be near 26°C/78°F, according to Weather Underground.

It's important for people to be aware of flooding.

Chaotic scenes as dozens of police chase man on French runway
Another official with direct knowledge of the investigation said there was no immediate evidence pointing to a terrorist motive. Police said they began pursuing the white Mercedes when it was spotted speeding the wrong way down a nearby motorway.

"Monday will be fairly wet, but things will start slowing down Monday afternoon", he said.

On Thursday, north of Jackson, Mississippi, more than 10 inches of rain fell, flooding streets and neighborhoods.

There is a potential barrier for the heaviest rain and that is the cool, dry air that will be working into the region from the north from high pressure there.

Even more rain is expected as Gordon's moisture is expected to continue interacting with a Midwest cold front.
