The Boston Bruins have traded defenseman Adam McQuaid to the New York Rangers for defenseman Steven Kampfer, a 2019 fourth-round pick, and a conditional 2019 seventh-round pick. His best season came in 2010-11, when he had 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) and finished fifth in the National Hockey League with a plus-30 rating.

The Boston Bruins have traded fan favorite and renowned tough guy Adam McQuaid to the New York Rangers.

A second-round pick (No. 55) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2005, McQuaid has 66 points (13 goals, 53 assists) in 462 National Hockey League games, all with the Bruins.

Entering the upcoming season, Boston already had three right-handed defenseman in their starting lineup (Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and Kevan Miller), which made it hard to envision McQuaid seeing much playing time. In 2010-11, the same year the team won the Stanley Cup, McQuaid became a mainstay on the back end.

"It's a very hard day.", Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said. Today was a tough morning.

Bills bench Peterman for rookie Allen in 44-point loss to Ravens
Allen will be the first rookie quarterback from the 2018 NFL Draft class to get his shot in a regular season NFL game. I thought he had pretty good command of the huddle and the offense at the line of scrimmage.

South Carolina Coast Ordered To Evacuate Ahead Of Hurricane Florence
There have been 3 hurricanes in the Atlantic at least 3 times in the last 9 years so this is not unprecedented. The Monday evening update from the National Hurricane Center shows Florence isn't done gaining energy.

Florence Forecast to Hit East Coast Hard
If a major hurricane (Category 3 or higher) does make landfall along the southeast coast, the rarity of such an event is relevant. Florence has been upgraded for the second time Monday and is now a Category 4 hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said.

The 31-year-old was limited to just 38 games this past season, putting up one goal and three assists.

Kampfer played in 32 games over two seasons with the Rangers, registering one goal and two assists.

This is a return to the Bruins for the 29-year-old Kampfer, who made his National Hockey League debut with the team in 2010.

Kampfer, 29, has played for Boston, Minnesota, Florida and NY in his 166-game National Hockey League career.
