While Wednesday's 98-82 victory for the Seattle Storm over the Washington Mystics gave the Storm it's third WNBA title, it is the first for Webb. Breanna Stewart added to her already impressive career by now being a WNBA champion and a finals MVP after winning regular season MVP earlier this year.

The message to Stewart was clear: At age 24, don't take for granted that she's leading the Seattle Storm to the WNBA Finals and expect it to happen all the time.

Natasha Howard led the way for Seattle with 29 points and 14 rebounds.

Bird is relishing this opportunity knowing it could be one of her last chances to win another title.

Elena Delle Donne scored 23 points for the Mystics.

"A successful one", veteran guard Kristi Toliver said when asked to evaluate the Mystics' season.

As bedlam burst and champagne poured, Breanna Stewart stood tall inside the cramped, plastic-lined visitor's locker room and allowed herself a smile of gratification.

"We had a great season", Delle Donne made clear.

Hayes averaged career highs of 17.2 points and 2.7 assists to lead Atlanta to the league's second-best record and a berth in the playoff semifinals where the Dream fell in five games to the Mystics.

Bezos to launch network of preschools: 'The child will be the customer'
Bezos made the announcement Thursday in a tweet and a post on his Instagram account. As per the current Giving Pledge signatory, Bezos is not participating.

"I was like, 'what's going on in Seattle sports, ' and all of these kids were like 'the Storm.' It was so awesome", said Zarker Primomo. But Stewart drove to the hoop and got the foul on the next possession, then completed the three-point play to halt the Washington momentum.

The Storm's championship sparked an outpouring of civic pride from the likes of Seattle natives Isaiah Thomas and Bill Russell, the Boston Celtics legend, who ended his Tweet with a joyful proclamation: #WeRepS3attle. While players haven't been shy about standing up for themselves, they've gotten some help from their National Basketball Association counterparts this year, which is enormous given the men's game's meteoric rise both at home and overseas over the last half decade.

The championship was Seattle's third in WNBA history. We feel like we've got a lot of young, great talent, and obviously this isn't how we wanted it to end, but it's an experience that we can grow from.

"There's been a huge transformation with the culture of this team", said Delle Donne, who was acquired by Washington before the 2017 season.

After trailing 69-53 entering the fourth quarter, the Mystics rallied to within five points at 72-67 on a 3-pointer by Tierra Ruffin-Pratt with 6:49 remaining. Stewart had 25 points in each of the first two meetings but was held to 10 in the final matchup.

Students kept rooting for the Storm into the fourth quarter, where the game got close, but never close enough.

ED: "To get her - trust me, I know, I've got you, Panda".

"The fans did a really good job of getting behind us throughout this run". "This isprobably going to be one of the defining moments of my career". "So to end it this way, there's nothing better".
