Sarri confirmed the Spaniard needed to be further assessed to determine the severity of the injury but said his initial impression was that it would not prove as damaging as first feared.

Sarri, though, said that - based on a quick conversation with the club's doctor - he does not believe the injury to be serious.

"In this position I am also in the last match played Pedro and Hazard but I have also players like Willian, Moses and so I don't know tomorrow if it is time for Odoi or somebody else", Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying.

Morata is likely to be back on the substitutes' bench when Chelsea take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday, having lost his place to Olivier Giroud due to a series of inconsistent performances, and Sarri warned that he does not have the power to rediscover the Spaniard's touch in front of goal.

Alvaro Morata had a good chance to double Chelsea's lead two minutes later after meeting Pedro's cross, but his header went just wide of Alexandros Paschalakis' goal. "I am not able to give him confidence".

"I hope for him that in the future I can try to help him, but the confidence can become only with goals". He was on the ball and was active. 'We had a lot of opportunities.

Pedro was forced off with a shoulder injury after colliding with Paschalakis, and Chelsea held on to secure their first three points of the group stage. "When it is time to kill the match we have to kill the match".

Others were happy that the win had come away from home, in unusual conditions in Greece.
