"Available as a free software update, iOS 12 introduces new augmented reality (AR) experiences, fun new features like Memoji, Siri Shortcuts that open up a world of apps to work with Siri and new tools to help people reduce interruptions and manage screen time for themselves and their families", the iPhone maker said in a statement late on Monday. Further, it is speculated that the new iPad Pro models will come with a USB Type-C connector instead of the iconic Lightning port. Because there's no beta version of iOS 12.1 for the iPhone XS or XS Max. Now that the final iOS 12 build is available for everyone to download, old iPhones users may wonder whether they should upgrade their phones or wait. Unlike other video calling services, Group FaceTime video calling allows for up to 32 participants in a single call. This would not be possible with existing iPhone hardware, suggesting that it might be coming in a future iPad with Face ID.

Separately, developer Steve Troughton-Smith shared on Twitter screenshot of iOS 12.1 code, which hints at landscape orientation support for Face ID. This will allow users to sync their Memoji across devices.
