Cybersecurity firm warns about dangerous celebrities online

The "Orange Is the New Black" star has been crowned the "most unsafe celebrity" to search online in 2018, according to security firm McAfee.

Orange Is The New Black actress Ruby Rose topped a United States version of the list, which measures how many search results featuring a celebrity's name contain links to potentially malicious websites.

The mother-of-three's name has been linked to the most potentially malicious websites on the net, next to Naomi Campbell, who placed second on the list.

AUSSIE actress, Ruby Rose has played some unsafe characters, like an inmate on Orange Is the New Black and a scientist battling a prehistoric shark in The Meg.

Aussie actress Rose Byrne came in at number five.

While Kourtney Kardashian may have been trying to put some distance between herself and her family in real life, she accomplished that on this year's list of most unsafe celebrities.

It's important to make sure you click around on the Internet wisely and safely when searching various celebrity names, the cybersecurity firm warned in the study.

The cyber-security firm said the best way to stay safe online is to only stream videos from a reliable, paid-for source and to only click on news stories from trusted websites. Users can apply operating system and application updates that may involve security maintenance, invest money in security protection tools and use parental control software.
