City's Mahrez misses late penalty in goalless draw at Liverpool

Chelsea joined Manchester City and Liverpool at the Premier League summit on Sunday as Riyad Mahrez blazed a late penalty over the bar when presented with a golden chance to end his team's Anfield hoodoo.

Liverpool, who remain unbeaten in their last 18 home games against City, came out roaring and dominated the opening 10 minutes but Pep Guardiola's visiting side weathered that early storm and were the more unsafe after the break.

Jurgen Klopp told reporters when offering a fitness update afterwards: "I asked him "big one?' and he said 'I don't think so, but big enough to go off".

"It'll be fascinating all of the individual duels and battles all over the pitch and there's two world-class managers". We were lucky in that situation but we deserved it, a bit of luck, because with the performance the boys showed today, it's just good.

Chelsea's Barkley scored his first goal for Maurizio Sarri's unbeaten Chelsea to help move them provisionally top of the Premier League in the 3-0 shutout at St Mary's. "The first half was not so easy, they missed big chances. but we controlled the match in the second half".

The Reds are level on points with the current holders, but goal difference sees the Sky Blues top the table. "I enjoyed myself so much and they were there to support me through what was probably the toughest time of my career".

Beers and cheers as Trump, Republicans celebrate Kavanaugh's rise to Supreme Court
That rare procedural maneuver left Kavanaugh with the same two-vote margin he'd have had if Murkowski and Daines had both voted. Kavanaugh has denied all the accusations. "I know they agree with us because they're shouting out #MeToo ".

With Chelsea making up ground by winning 3-0 at Southampton, the league's three unbeaten teams go into the global break locked together on 20 points. Without them, this game is really hard to play. I don't play against the manager, we play against Liverpool.

"Liverpool are one of the two greatest teams in England and that's why we tried to be close with them in terms of many, many things, and we are closer".

If Liverpool and City draw it could benefit Chelsea if they manage to defeat Southampton in Sunday's earlier game held on the south coast.

"But a guy who has the quality to score 50 goals in a season always has that quality". He will be in today; if he can do something on the training ground, I don't know.

"You have to be ready, you need a fantastic football team - which I have, thank God - with an outstanding character, ready for being fearless, ready for making mistakes against an outstanding opponent". When we won 2-1 at City, they pushed us in our 18-yard box and we didn't know how to come out.

Instead, the two meanest defences in the division would come out on top in an opening 45 minutes that did not see a single shot on target. It feels much easier to say it was a penalty when they didn't score with it, but I saw it and I don't think there's a lot to discuss about.
