Even if that pulling power comes with baggage, and a reputation for vulgarism during his fight career he continues to enthusiastically play up.

Conor McGregor just went off in his UFC 229 press conference - vowing to destroy Khabib Nurmagomedov. and claiming he'll be a billionaire by age 35!

The UFC lightweight champion turned up promptly at 3pm at Park Theater in Las Vegas and completed his media duties before McGregor's arrival. The police had earlier said that McGregor was a "person of interest" in the matter and that they wanted to question him.

McGregor polarises like few others, making the drama that he brings bearable - arguably welcome - for promoters.

The incident came shortly after UFC President Dana White announced that McGregor would be stripped of his 155-pound championship belt, which he won at UFC 205 in November 2016.

It shapes up as a huge potential windfall for the UFC and is a marquee match-up fans have been screaming for. Khabib had left by the time McGregor showed up.

The event is scheduled to get underway at 11pm Irish/UK time. While McGregor has shown a genius-level ability to fight against type, even with the right game plan, I'm not sure he can train his defensive wrestling hard enough to make up the difference against Nurmagomedov.

McGregor helped sell the fight before it was even announced, getting charged by NY authorities after throwing a hand truck through a bus window in Brooklyn in April at Nurmagomedov.

McGregor, too, has been typically forthright.

Joe Manchin, a Democrat, to Vote Yes to Confirm Brett Kavanaugh
About 100 anti-Kavanaugh protesters climbed the Capitol's East Steps as the vote approached, pumping fists and waving signs. The Kavanaugh vote may be a pivotal moment in the November 6 midterm elections, where control of Congress is up for grabs.

Beers and cheers as Trump, Republicans celebrate Kavanaugh's rise to Supreme Court
That rare procedural maneuver left Kavanaugh with the same two-vote margin he'd have had if Murkowski and Daines had both voted. Kavanaugh has denied all the accusations. "I know they agree with us because they're shouting out #MeToo ".

Forecasters: Caribbean storm could become hurricane
I think the most likely scenario is that a tropical storm, or weak hurricane, will form sometime Sunday or Monday. Today's forecast for Palm Beach County includes a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain with highs in the upper 80s.

"That's what I'm keeping in my head, but I'm a veteran now".

"The traffic is a little heavy, there must be a McGregor fight going on".

"After my surgery I made a conscious decision to not want anybody else's help that wouldn't want to help me", Ferguson said. "He can say whatever he wants, nobody cares about him".

McGregor was filmed hurling a dolly through a window of a bus carrying Nurmagomedov and other fighters as it moved through a loading dock at the venue.

A technician against a raw, visceral brawler.

"When I sign up, you're going to get a fight".

One of those fighters, Michael Chiesa, has sued McGregor for causing him physical, financial and emotional harm, while the Irishman was arrested but was able to avoid felony charges and plead to a single count of disorderly conduct.

More main card fighters check-in, including strawweights Michelle Waterson and Felice Herrig and heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov. Of course I'm emotional too, but I have to control this. For me, it's personal.

Asked if he still planned to torture McGregor over five rounds by "sentencing him to 25 minutes in jail", Nurmagomedov said his prediction for how he wins is dependent upon McGregor's toughness. My legacy is smash.
