This processor has base and boost speeds of 3.6GHz and 4.9GHz, with a 12MB cache. During a brief demonstration following Intel's announcement, I witnessed a test machine with a Core i9-9900K and an Nvidia GTX 2080 achieve a score of 33,144 on the World of Tanks Encore in-game benchmark, while a similarly configured system with a Core i7-8700K recorded a result of 30,318. Intel has the same 95W TDP on the 9700K. These processors are similar to the previous generation in that they will work with Coffee Lake and Z370 platforms, but they will also be compatible with Intel's new Z390 motherboard chipset.

The top-end Core i9-9900K boasts 8C/16T with a base frequency of 3.6GHz and boost of 5.0GHz.

Amazon just started listing the 8-core Core i9 9900K. The Core i7 model interestingly has eight cores, compared to six with the Core i7-8700K, but this model lacks Hyper-Threading which means that the total thread count has actually declined from 12 to eight.

Intel announced details of their new products today, which features the 9 generation ii9, i7 and i5 processors.

Intel is using a Solder Thermal Interface Material (STIM) on the new 9900K, something that should make some people happy with integrated USB 3.1 gen 2 and integrated Intel Wireless-AC connectivity. They are however still on the 14nm architecture, so there is a real sense that the industry is holding its breath in anticipation of Intel launching their 10nm Cannon lake series at some point next year. Additionally it features 16MB of L3 cache (2MB of per core), supports dual channel DDR4-2666, and is rated at 95W TDP.

Intel has taken the wraps off three new 9 Gen desktop Core CPUs for gamers and mainstream users, as well as a new range of Core X-Series CPUs and also a Xeon consumer workstation CPU for extremely demanding content creators. Intel says that the Core i9-9900K would cost you $488 and you can pre-order the new processors today.
