He was a criticial part of the Eagles' run to Super Bowl LII, tallying 217 yards on 58 rushing attempts in the playoffs.

The Eagles reportedly reached out to the Bills about a possible trade for LeSean McCoy, according to CBS affiliate WIVB. Clement would likely get most of the touches if he's able to play. These aren't the numbers we've been accustomed to seeing from McCoy. This past year, he finished sixth with 1,122 rushing yards, third with nine rushing touchdowns and ninth with 70.1 rushing yards per game. Since 2016, when he became the Dolphins' lead back, Ajayi carried the ball 513 times for 4.54 yards per carry. Smallwood has 150 yards rushing, a 6.0 average, and one TD on the ground and one receiving. McCoy has pulled in 109 catches during the 2016 and 2017 season. Really pleased with his production, he's done a nice job.

With Jay Ajayi done for the season, the Eagles are in desperate need of running back help. The Eagles wouldn't have to give McCoy 20 carries a game, but he is capable of doing that if needed.

Wendell Smallwood and undrafted rookie Josh Adams should also see plenty of action.

Off-the-field: McCoy does not come without his issues off the field.

Jay Ajayi's injury is not only sad news, but makes the fantasy football picture even less clear in the Eagles backfield. The Eagles traded its star running back, McCoy, to Buffalo in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

The Eagles now have just over $4.3 million in cap space.

With general manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott committed to a full-scale rebuild, the time is now for the second year regime to move on and extract all the value they can receive in a potential McCoy deal while his value is at his peak. McCoy is now working with an offensive line that's talent level and experience is devoid of years past. It's unclear if the Bill will trade him as he has two years left on his Bills contract.
