Google is about to announce the introduction of the new Google Pixel Slate at its hardware event in New York City.

Google on Tuesday officially took the veils off Pixel 3 and a bigger Pixel 3 XL smartphone to take on the likes of flagship devices by Apple and Samsung. These phones come with screen size and camera upgrades compared to the previous models, The Verge reports, and Google spent much of its presentation touting the new advanced photography software.

Google's most hyped smartphones - Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL has already been thoroughly leaked in the past few of months. And this time on the front there are two 8-megapixel cameras, and they seem as good as the 12-megapixel rear camera. But then there's the Google Pixel Slate, Google's newest tablet.

Furthermore, both features Top Shot that automatically captures multiple images and recommends the best shot using machine learning, and Super Res Zoom which frames a zoom shot without having to use a telephoto lens.

Both the devices are available in 64GB and 128GB onboard storage options and Google is also promising unlimited online storage for photographs and videos until January 31, 2022.

Google finally took the wraps off the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL yesterday.

The company has said that the pre-order for the smartphones will begin from October 11th and the sales for the same will start from November 1st, 2018.

Track live forecasts of river flooding ahead of Hurricane Michael
Michael's core , with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph, was about 335 miles south of Panama City, Florida, as of 2 p.m. That's just below the threshold for a "major" hurricane, and forecasters say they still expect Michael to get stronger.

How much will the Google Pixel cost?

All told, we're expecting a price similar to that of the Surface Pro or iPad Pro, so around $799 (£799, AU$1,199).

GOOGLE is about to unveil a string of new products and its new smartphone range promises to be its best yet. It features a keyboard with circular keys, Google Assistant button, and pins that will allow the Slate to dock. That's what the tech giant will be doing with its Google Home Hub which is the company's answer to Amazon's Echo Show.

Despite all that, Google is here to let everyone know that maybe we don't know everything about the upcoming phone. Google's AR Stickers has now been renamed to Playground and it now contains plenty of new AR characters that you can add to your photos and videos. I am yet to fully explore the Pixel 3 XL camera - and some features like Night Sight and Top Shot which will not be available for another month or so - but even from my limited use I get the impression that the Pixel 3 XL is yet again going to be the top shooter in the world of mobile phones.

The new Pixel phones are expected to follow the trend of expanding the phone screen almost to the edges of the device. Google will be unveiling the Pixel 3 along with the Pixel 3 XL at this event. The Pixel 2 featured the last-gen Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with Adreno 540 GPU. Other specs of Pixel 3 XL are going to be almost identical to those of the Pixel 3, like previous years.

Google should also present the Google Home Hub, a 7-inch smart display that integrates with Google Assistant.

The Pixel 2 used this function to bring up the Google Assistant easily.
