And for anyone who was banking on a Week 7 return to the Steelers for Le'Veon Bell, well, those plans aren't laid at all.

This should quickly become an intriguing situation in the backfield as Bell will be aiming to recapture his starting job or it could possibly further complicate the entire matter in a couple of weeks.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the team is not expecting Bell to show up at all this week. However, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Steelers have yet to hear anything from their Pro Bowl running back. The Steelers are on their bye this week, the players are off Thursday through Sunday, so now the Bell watch begins for next Monday, Oct. 22. If he had been struggling to provide any stability to the running game, it would more likely have seen Bell be inserted back into the starting lineup upon his return.

All that said, Saturday Night Live over the weekend spoofed West and Trump's meeting during the show's cold open. West and his wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West , have been vacationing in a national park in Uganda.

Despite Bell's absence, the Steelers' offense now ranks fifth in total yards per game (417.7), a season after ranking third (387.7). That would put him out for almost half the season.

La Canfora also pointed out on the Pick Six Podcast (episode coming Wednesday, subscribe to our DAILY NFL show right here) that should Bell even report before Week 8, the Steelers might want to use a two-week roster exemption on him.

The Steelers attempted to give Bell a franchise tag for the second year worth $14.5 million.
