Sayoc, 56, is set to be extradited from his home state of Florida to NY where he is scheduled to appear before Manhattan U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Lehrburger for allegedly sending 15 packages containing homemade pipe bomb devices to prominent Democrats and critics of President Donald Trump.

Prosecutors told a judge that Sayoc presents a flight risk and is a serious danger to the public.

Cesar Sayoc is scheduled to appear at 10am before US Magistrate Judge Robert Lehrburger, according to a letter yesterday from the US Department of Justice.

Sayoc last week waived a similar hearing in Miami near where he was captured on October 26. Court documents indicate he is charged with transporting explosives across state lines, illegally mailing explosives, threatening former presidents and others, threatening interstate communications and assaulting federal officials.

Sayoc has been accused of mailing 16 pipe bombs, some of which were sent to former president's Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, billionaire financier George Soros and CNN.

At the time of his arrest, he was living inside a van decorated with images of Trump and anti-Democrat stickers. Kamala Harris and New Jersey Sen.

Cesar Sayoc, 56, of Aventura, appeared in federal court in Miami last week, but did not speak as his attorneys waived his detention hearing.

Prosecutors say the most recent crude bomb was recovered last Friday in California, addressed to liberal activist Tom Steyer. "While I have not lived with my son for 35 years or even heard from him in over four years, I can not express how deeply hurt, sad, shocked and confused I am to hear that my son may have caused so many people to be put in fear for their safety", Madeline Sayoc wrote, according to excerpts ABC published on Sunday.

"Although the Government's investigation is ongoing, the evidence gathered to date demonstrates the dangerousness of the defendant and creates significant incentives for him to flee", prosecutors wrote.
