Almost a year after the popular PC shooting game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) launched on Xbox One, evidence has begun popping up to suggest that the game's launch on the PS4 could be imminent.

Since at least October 17, images and Content-ID codes for the game have been on PlayStation's servers, suggesting that a release of the popular shooter is imminent.

It looks like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to be available on PS4 next month, as the game plans its first esports season.

Video game analyst Daniel Ahmad on forum ResetEra said that indeed it will be released next month on PS4, in response to the initial post.

Cigar-shaped object could be alien spacecraft, Harvard researchers claim
The cigar-shaped rock is now speeding through the galaxy and is the first known interstellar object to enter our solar system. If Oumuamua is evidence of an alien civilization seeking out life beyond its home solar system, we may never know.

That's not the only reason PUBG is in the news today though, as Microsoft has been tweeting about their X018 event at the weekend. The original Xbox One release of the game in preview was in mid-December last year, which would fit the end of a "one year exclusive" period. The only other evidence pointing to a PS4 launch comes from a September filing for a PS4 PUBG game rating in South Korea, the nation where developer PUBG headquartered.

And finally, in terms of PUBG, the game's inaugural esports season has been announced for this January.

If you're an Xbox One owner on the hunt for something new to play, a new promotion from Microsoft just might have you covered.
