Rajinikanth flays AIADMK for protest against film 'Sarkar'

"Sarkar" had earlier courted a row after an aspiring filmmaker claimed that the film's story was his, following which director Murugadoss went in for a compromise with him.

Since the beginning "Sarkar" is surrounded by sea of controversies.

According to the latest update, this move has calmed down the AIADMK leaders who had threatened the makers of Sarkar with dire consequences.

The ruling party was against the scene where AR Murugadoss throws the free mixer grinder provided by Tamil Nadu Government into fire and Komalavali, the character name of Varalakshmi which indirectly mentions the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

They also demanded certain scenes to be removed from the film.

Justice GK Ilanthiraiyan passed the interim order on the anticipatory bail petition filed by Mr Murugadoss, who apprehended arrest over complaints filed in connection with the "objectionable" scenes.

Following pressure from the ruling AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu, three cuts from AR Murugadoss' Deepavali release Sarkar have been made after state-wide protests from the ruling party. They also said that the objectionable content was already censored by the makers. "So the issue has come to an end".

According to trade analysts, the film is unstoppable in the US. He condemned unlawful acts such as damaging the film's banners and demanding the removal of certain scenes from the film. It attracted severe criticism from AIADMK with the law minister C Ve Shanmugam threatening legal action against the movie if the controversial scenes are not deleted.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Vijay and Keerthi Suresh in key roles with Oscar victor A R Rahman scoring the music.
