At first glance, one of the most noticeable improvements with the Galaxy J4 Core compared to the J2 Core is the display.

At the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco, Justin Denison, a senior vice president of mobile product marketing, withdrew a prototype of what has so far been called the Galaxy F from the inside pocket of his suit. It also announced its take on the notch, with not one but three notch designs for its future devices - the Infinity U, Infinity V and Infinity O.

The device will be available for mass production in a few months. It is basically a phone with a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED "cover display" that unfolds into a tablet with a 7.3-inch Super AMOLED "main display". But it's smaller than tablets made by either company. The next steps are rollable TVs and foldable handheld screens. Both screens boast resolutions of a standard 420 pixels-per-inch density. Other notable announcements included an API for Bixby allowing for third party service support, new Infinity Displays with notches and now, new and updated APIs for Galaxy GameDev.

According to Samsung Exynos' Twitter page, the company plans to show off the new Exynos processor on November 14th.

The software input, mainly the operating system to be customized for the flexible display is being worked on by Google and its Android team collaborating with Samsung's own team.

"We expect to see foldable products from several Android manufacturers", he said.

"We have achieved significant advancements in AI and IoT, which will be crucial to bringing our connected living vision to life", D.J. Koh, President and CEO of Samsung's IT and Mobile Communications Division, said in a media advisory. A new foundation? Why would we want our displays to fold?

By using two AI processing units, Samsung smartphones will be able to process images quicker and perform machine learning tasks faster.

But they were unexpectedly beaten by a Chinese display start-up, Royole, last week.

Royole said it would start filling orders in late December.

There is a high chance it will carry a price tag of around 2 million won ($1,790).

The foldable smartphone from Samsung, which has been much talked about for a fairly long period appears to be finally here, though up to now, only at a conceptual stage. The app developers for Android have also to be kept in the loop to adapt to these changes.
