Parents of Lion Air Crash Victim Sue Boeing Over 737 MAX Design

During an interview with FOX Business this week, Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said the 737 Max jets are safe and denied that the company withheld any information.

The lawsuit was lodged in Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, the United State on November 14, a lawyer at Colson Hicks Eidson & BartlettChen LLC Law Firm Curtis Miner said in the statement released on Thursday.

Pratama's father has filed a U.S. lawsuit against Boeing, alleging it did not adequately warn Lion Air or its pilots of an unsafe design condition.

The issue was discovered through the investigation into the Lion Air crash.

Boeing made modifications to the anti-stall system without informing air carriers and their crews, according to the Allied Pilots Association.

Lion Air flight JT633 reportedly crashed into a pole at the Bengkulu-Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, Indonesia last week as it was about to take off for Jakarta.

Questions have swirled about Boeing's alleged failure to tell airlines and pilots about changes to an anti-stall system that is being investigated for its possible links to the crash.

Boeing and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued guidance on the system last week after a Lion Air jet crashed in Indonesia on October 29, killing all 189 people on board.
