Prince William teases Kate Middleton for "matching Xmas tree"

During a Kensington Palace Christmas party on Tuesday, the Cambridges met the families of pilots, senior officers and ground crews from 11 Squadron - a Typhoon fighter unit based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire and flying missions from Cyprus to combat Isis. But luckily, not all hope was lost - George made sure to ask dad to take a photo of a helicopter if she saw one today in Cyprus, and we're sure William obliged his sweet son!

"Not only are we grateful for you coming here to join our party, but also for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis on behalf of the nation". At the event, Middleton delivered a heartfelt speech on how hard it feels to be away from those who are serving in the military. I think some of the grandparents felt slightly bombarded.

'The absence of people you love must be especially hard at this time of year.

"You're a nightmare with that!"

She was hit with a mock snowball, but it was all in good spirits.

Middleton also joked that Prince Louis, who just marked 7 months, had perfected his royal wave.

Prince William jokingly crowned wife Kate Middleton the Queen of Christmas.

Her husband said: "We see our main function as giving my daughter and her husband peace of mind".

During the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit to Cyrpus, where the couple opened a new recreation centre for military personnel, Kate outed her husband's bad habit in a surprisingly candid public moment for the couple. "Did they get back [home] okay?"

Kate and William's appearance on Wednesday came amid suggestions of a rift between them and the Sussexes, following the announcement that Meghan and Harry will be moving away from Kensington Palace next year.
