Cavs trade Hill, Dekker for Dellavedova, Henson & two draft picks

Now that George Hill and Sam Dekker have reportedly been dealt to the Bucks, it looks like it may be JR Smith's turn to move.

Milwaukee sent guard Matthew Dellavedova, center John Henson, a future first-round draft pick and a 2021 second-round draft pick to Cleveland. Dellavedova was a member of the Cavaliers' 2016 championship team and averaged 7.5 points per game, 2.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists that season.

Cleveland is just 5-20 and rebuilding in the wake of LeBron James' departure last summer.

"Everybody said he's a real good guy, a real good locker-room guy", he said. "George provides us added depth and experience at the guard position, while Jason gives us another frontcourt player who can stretch the floor".

Dellavedova could find some minutes behind 20-year-old rookie point guard Collin Sexton, who should benefit from his veteran presence.

The deal potentially could save the Bucks about $19 million next season if they don't keep Hill, who has only $1 million of a $19 million deal guaranteed. Cleveland recently traded sharpshooter Kyle Korver to Utah for two picks in 2020 and 2021.

Google Announces Google Play's "Best of 2018" Awards
Google wasn't able to mention the massive phenomenon because the app isn't available for download from the Play store . BuzzFeed asserts that the two companies may have made "millions of dollars" as a result of this form of ad-fraud.

In 12 appearances this season, Dellavedova is averaging 1.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Henson recently underwent surgery to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist.

"Both George and Sam Dekker went about their work here with professionalism and class and we wish them the best".

The timing of the trade was important as it means any of the players in the trade could be traded again before the trade deadline in February, as much as the Cavs love Dellavedova, another team may trade for his contract and send a longer-term contract and draft picks to the Cavs. He is averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

The money Milwaukee will save with the trade allows them flexibility to continue to upgrade the roster, while the Cavaliers continue show a willingness to take on money to gather draft picks.
