‘Criminal Minds’ To End After Its 15th Season!

CBS has announced it has renewed the long-running Criminal Minds TV show for a 15th and final season.

Criminal Minds' Season 14 finale airs Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10/9c on CBS.

There aren't many shows at all that get to enjoy a 15-season run on television.

At 15 seasons, "Criminal Minds" would catch "ER" in longevity, but would still trail classics like "Gunsmoke", "Law & Order", "NCIS" and others, Deadline noted. In the past, the show has debuted new episodes in late September or early October, so fans can probably expect to the final season to begin airing in early fall 2019, with the show wrapping up in late 2019 or early 2020. "We are so proud to have aired it", said CBS' EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach. ABC Studios produces in association with CBS Television Studios.

Criminal Minds airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. So far, we know that the final season will feel more like a serial drama than a procedural.

The long-running crime drama about a group of Federal Bureau of Investigation behavioral profilers recently celebrated its 300th episode.

Throughout the years, the show has starred Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore, Paget Brewster and Amber Heard. "I don't have the endgame in mind yet", she said at the time.

"Criminal Minds" was one the forefront of the whole modern cop drama and was pretty much a whitewashed version of "True Detective". I think everyone will be really sad, and I know this cast especially is so fond of one another, they are truly a family.

According to Deadline, the network has decided that it will use the abridged season to wrap up all the series' loose ends before sending them off into the sunset.
