Marvel's The Punisher returns for a second season on Netflix next Friday, but the review embargo on the upcoming batch (pun intended) of episodes has lifted.

Frank Castle is back for another round of morally gray murder in Season 2 of Netflix's The Punisher, and based on the above trailer, not much has changed. Frank being Frank, he steps in, automatically making himself an enemy of the same forces after the girl. She eventually reveals that the men killed her family and are looking to the same to her. This season, judging by this 2-minute clip, is going to be even bloodier. She responds, "It was nearly like you were happy for the excuse".

"I dream about the Punisher every night", says one of those villains, the returning Billy Russo AKA Jigsaw in the comics and portrayed by Ben Barnes in the new look at the new season. Nevertheless, he wants revenge against Castle. He's obviously Jigsaw on this season - but won't be referred to as Jigsaw, I guess.

"I'm not the one who dies, kid", he grumbles, "I'm the one who does the killing".

The season 1 of the show was one of the most gruesome shows available on the streaming site, and that was a remarkable feat keeping in mind the current crop of TV dramas. It garnered positive critical reception and has built up a considerable fan-following. We still haven't actually got an official word on this - or on a third season for Jessica Jones - but don't be surprised to see those cancellation headlines popping up a week or two after the second season drops, irrespective of how well it's received, just like Netflix did with Daredevil.
