"Bird Box" goes back and forth between present day in which Malorie (Bullock) blindly navigates her two children down a river to a safe community and the past in which a very-pregnant Malorie and her comrades fight to survive the creatures and the insane until the two storylines meet up. Within the first seven days of its release on Netflix, Nielsen reports that it was watched by 26 million viewers in the US alone. And that number doesn't include those outside of U.S. who have watched it, and it doesn't include the viewing on laptops, mobiles or tablets.

Some calculations were made, by sampling the "watching" habits of about 118,000 people - more than 45,000 homes. "Things got messy..." Cameron captioned the video. Netflix did not comment on these calculations. Which is smart, and actually adds a smart element to the movie.

Which, while again predictable, is the most developed and consistent inter-personal relationship in the movie, as everyone else's seems flimsy, forced and pure cardboard.

Bier also addresses the comparisons that Bird Box has had to A Quiet Place, explaining that they were nearly finished editing the film when they first heard of the thriller.

It's highest single day was its eight day in release, where it had an average minute audience of 3.9 million USA viewers. They also discovered that 36% of viewers were millennials, 57% of viewers were female, and 46% were either African American or Hispanic, the latter of which marks "the highest concentration Nielsen has observed across the Netflix originals it analyzed".

Trump Won’t Answer Any More Questions From Mueller In Russia Investigation: Giuliani
Since at least last summer, Trump's legal team has been drafting a rebuttal in preparation for Mueller's report. Until then, the professional attorney can only wait amidst his doubts to see if Mueller "puts up or shuts up".

Stop that, says Netflix.

Though audiences never saw what the monsters in Bird Box looked like, designers who worked on the film have given us a peek at what one would have appeared as in a scene that was cut from the film. Unfortunately Nielsen only looks at USA data for Netflix, so we can't fully confirm Netflix's claim, but it doesn't seem unreasonable given the USA numbers.

The film opened in limited theatrical engagements in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and London on December 13, and was released globally on Netflix on December 21.
