Trump Won’t Answer Any More Questions From Mueller In Russia Investigation: Giuliani

In an interview with Reuters, Giuliani said Mueller raised the possibility of follow-up questions but that the president's outside legal team told the special counsel before Christmas that Trump would not respond. An FBI spokeswoman and a spokesman for the special counsel's office both declined to comment.

Court documents submitted by Paul Manafort's lawyers accidentally revealed that, while serving as Trump campaign chairman, Manafort handed over internal campaign polling data to Konstantin V. Kilimnik, a Russian businessman linked to the GRU intelligence agency GRU.

The inquiry took two modes: agents weighed if the president's decision to fire Comey could be considered a threat to national security, and if the firing had a criminal aspect, constituting obstruction of justice. But, added to everything already known about contacts between Trump associates and Russian individuals - all of which were initially denied - this raises multiple red flags. It is unclear what happened to the probe after that.

"As far as we're concerned, everything is over", Rudolph W. Giuliani, one of Mr. Trump's attorneys and a former New York City mayor, told Reuters on Wednesday. Apparently, the bureau's knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting, and Trump's July 2016 press conference request - "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing - wasn't enough to pull the trigger on an inquiry".

If the report is not made public, however, Congress could issue a subpoena to try to force its release.

Since at least last summer, Trump's legal team has been drafting a rebuttal in preparation for Mueller's report.

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen was sentenced last month to three years in prison for crimes including orchestrating the payments in violation of campaign finance laws. That means Rosenstein may still be at the DOJ after President Trump's pick for attorney general, Bill Barr, is installed in his new role, pending Senate confirmation next week.

"Of course we have to see (the report) before it goes to Congress", Giuliani said.

The newspaper said it's not clear whether Mueller is still looking into that matter. Until then, the professional attorney can only wait amidst his doubts to see if Mueller "puts up or shuts up".
