Britain would strengthen the global military presence: the cause

In a speech to the Royal United Services Institute think tank in London on Monday, Williamson said the 65,000-ton carrier Queen Elizabeth - which was commissioned in late 2017 - would also make appearances in the Mediterranean and Middle East along the way as Britain flexed its military muscles post-Brexit. "This is the moment when we must strengthen our global presence, increase the lethality of our weapons and a specific weight", intends to declare the Minister.

"A post-Brexit global Britain must be about taking action alongside our friends and allies and action to oppose those who flout worldwide law".

With the boundaries between peace and war becoming "blurred", particularly by Russian Federation and China, Williamson said Britain and its allies had to be ready "to use hard power to support our interests".

Williamson also said the country's cyber forces will be reinforced to defend and launch attacks.

He told those gathered for his speech that "state-on-state competition was reviving".

The report said Williamson will highlight close military ties between Washington and London and will support U.S. President Donald Trump's call for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries to increase military spending in the face of what he called Russian provocations.

"That is why "Global Britain" needs to be much more than a pithy phrase: it has to be about action, and our armed forces represent the best of "Global Britain" in action", he said.

He said the United Kingdom would build new alliances and rekindle old ones, and shared his belief that Britain "should be the nation that people turn to when the world needs leadership".
