Enes Kanter will be a Trail Blazer as the former Knicks center will get a chance to play with a contender.

Kanter, 26, publicly expressed his frustrations with his lack of playing time in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline, but the Knicks were unable to find a trade partner due to his $18.6 million contract.

Less than a week later and Kanter has found a new home in the Portland Trail Blazers, agreeing to a new deal according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Excited to meet me new teammates, coaches, staff and most importantly the fans. He appeared in 44 games.

Kanter, who hails from Turkey, has been openly critical of the Turkish government and did not travel with the Knicks for a January game in London because he said he feared for his safety.

The trade can not become official until March 13, so by league rules, the Broncos can not publicly talk about the move until then. Keenum is still under contract through 2019, and Flacco possibly solves any immediate need the Broncos have at the position.

Kanter averaged 14 points and 10.5 rebounds - tied for 12th in the league - in just 25.6 minutes per game this season for the Knicks. He averaged 9.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in 17.9 minutes during the 2015-16 Western Conference playoffs, helping the Thunder reach the Western Conference finals. This is a really solid addition for the Blazers, who now have Kanter, Jusuf Nurkić, Meyers Leonard and Jake Layman manning the front court.

Kanter chose Portland over the Los Angeles Lakers and several other teams.

The Blazers are now sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 33-23.
