Lisa Page Admitted Obama DOJ Ordered Stand-Down on Hillary Prosecution

The DOJ agreed not to look into certain emails on the private servers of Hillary Clinton during its investigation in order to facilitate FBI access to them, released closed-door testimony of former FBI agent Peter Strzok shows.

Strzok was removed in 2017 from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team following the discovery of the messages with attorney Lisa Page.

Strzok, who played a leading role in the FBI's concurrent probes of Trump and Clinton, exchanged anti-Trump text messages with then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom Strzok confirmed he was having an affair. Both interviews took place last summer.

John Ratcliffe (R-TX) posted a transcript excerpt of Page's 2018 July testimony to social media in which she made the explosive admission to him.

In the transcript, Strzok said the debate over how aggressively to investigate the campaign explained the backstory of a cryptic August 15, 2016, text message he sent Page that has long attracted Republican attention. Both characterized the messages as personal exchanges, strongly denying that they affected the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

I congratulate him for playing tactically really well and getting me out of my comfort zone. "He deserved to win". Tactic-wise, I played a clever match, I was aggressive with the forehand. "I must admit I was thinking about it".

State Dept. report says disputed Golan Heights 'controlled' by Israel
Months later, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, said Israel will hold on to the Syrian territory indefinitely. The army said the unit was in the establishment and recruitment stage and was not yet operational.

And in the transcript that Collins has released, Page addresses the FBI's investigations of the 2016 Trump campaign's suspected Russian Federation connections as well as the 2016 Hillary Clinton e-mail controversy.

Strzok also said Comey initially concluded Clinton had shown "gross negligence" in how she handled classified information - a finding that could lead to charges - but dialed that back to "extreme carelessness" by the time he finished his memo.

Strzok said DOJ attorneys believed that "we lacked probable cause to get a search warrant for those servers and projected that either it would take a very long time and/or it would be impossible to get to the point where we could obtain probable cause to get a warrant".

Strzok recalled that he disagreed that a candidate's electability should be part of the equation.

Strzok also noted he was not sure how often the FBI briefed retired personnel about closed cases - as they did in the Clinton email investigation in late October 2016. McCabe has said he could not recall such a meeting taking place.
