The British government must offer a "clear" answer on its intentions for Brexit before a European Union summit next week, the French presidency said Friday, after United Kingdom lawmakers voted to seek a delay if no withdrawal deal is reached soon.

The Prime Minister is set to bring her Brexit deal back to the Commons for a third meaningful vote next week, and Attorney General Geoffrey Cox has sought to provide further legal assurances about the Irish backstop.

Most Conservative MPs voted against delaying Brexit, including 7 cabinet members Mrs.

Mrs May will also look to get her deal passed through the House of Commons again, with plans to hold another vote next week.

He reiterated he did not want to see "rolling" deadlines for Brexit and any request for an extension had to be for a "purpose".

The minister was in London for arguably the most sensitive of the government's St Patrick's Day missions overseas as European leaders began considerations on what type of delay could be granted for the UK's exit.

Her Cabinet (members) are disloyal and she has lost two major votes on her deal.

Speaking on a visit to Paris, Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said "everyone would welcome" MPs approving the deal and Brexit being briefly pushed back to get the necessary legislation through.

What happens now? May will seek another parliamentary vote next week.
