Modi biopic producer speaks up on credit row

Now, lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed shock at seeing his name on the poster of the movie.

A day after Javed Akhtar refused his involvement with the upcoming movie PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on Prime Minister of India, lyricist Sameer too mentioned that he has not worked on the film. "Have not written any songs for it!", Akhtar posted on Twitter.

Producer, Creative Director and story by Sandip Ssingh. The movie has partnered with T-Series, who hold rights for both the songs. "Have not written any songs for it", Javed tweeted along with the picture.

In an interview with an online portal, Ssingh said that the row would never have popped up if Javed and Sameer had clarified with the filmmakers directly.

"His say is he has not written the lyrics for the film but the makers have included his name in the end credits" plate in the trailer.

"I did not get any call from him and so I also did not call him".

Now, one of the producers of the movie Sandip Ssingh cleared the air about the mysterious credits and it turns out it was all in the name of giving credit where it is due.

Vivek Oberoi stars as the Prime Minister alongside Rajendra Gupta, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Boman Irani, Darshan Kumar and Yatun Karyekar.
