The Celtics capitalized and led by as many as 22 in the fourth. In total, IN scored just 29 combined IN the third and fourth quarters, and though the defense was able to hold the Celtics IN check, the lack of scoring was the Pacers' downfall IN this one.

One never wants to assume too much from the first game in a playoff series, but a lot of the concerns for in about being able to score enough to compete appear to be valid.

"We had open looks that we didn't knock down", Pacers head coach Nate McMillan said. Game 1 will give us a good look at the individual matchups that will define the series but, on paper, nearly all of them go in the Celtics favor.

Boston's big run started with a dunk by Jaylen Brown (check it out below), but Irving dominated the third quarter, dropping eight points and dishing out three assists while the Pacers scored just eight points on 2-for-19 shooting.

IN made just one more basket in the quarter - a layup by Doug McDermott - and finished the period with just eight points, getting outscored 26-8.

"We just didn't make enough shots", Pacers forward Thaddeus Young said of the third. Game 2 will take place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. "I thought we lost a little confidence".

Bruins enter Game 3 against Maple Leafs with lineup questions
Kadri looked to be injured but no penalty was called on DeBrusk. "It's time for f-ing Auston Matthews to wake up", Avery said. Bergeron scored on the ensuing power play at 15:03 as the Leafs now turn their attention to Game 3 _ likely without Kadri.

The Pacers have been impressive without Victor Oladipo, with Bojan Bogdanovic picking up a lot of the scoring and creation load and Myles Turner developing into a fringe Defensive Player of the Year candidate. "I got a couple of bigs guarding me, so I'm just trying to space the floor and read their closeouts [and] trying to let the game come to me".

"We'll you figured they'll make adjustments", Pacers guard Darren Collison said.

The Celtics lead the series 1-0. Those happen to be Indiana Pacers colors as well, but it was all green on Sunday at the start of what Celtics fans hope is a long postseason run.

The Celtics' 84 points were their fewest of the season and marked the first time they scored fewer than 100 points and won.

For Boston, Kyrie Irving and Morris each scored 20 points. Jayson Tatum chipped in 15 of his own on 6-11 shooting and a ideal 3-3 from deep. When the dust settled, Boston outscored IN 26-8 IN the period and led 64-53.
